January 21, 2022
Thirteen years ago we released our first full-length record (January 21, 2009) and today we celebrate that anniversary by offering this on-demand virtual concert of us performing “Good Lovelies” (plus a few extras!) from last March.
In the spring of 2008 we hired two amazing producers (Les Cooper and Adam King) to help us bring our songs to life and headed to the stunning Canterbury Studio in Toronto to record our first album. We watched as a group of musical legends came into the studio to record their parts with us (Christine Bougie, Darcy Yates, Marc Rogers, Joel Stouffer, Drew Jurecka, Spencer Evans, Michael Davidson – plus a chorus of gentlemen including Justin Rutledge, Rob Szabo, Scott Cooper, Colin Love singing along with us!)
In April 2010 in St John’s, NL, we were awarded the Roots & Traditional JUNO for this album! We were floored, honoured, petrified, over the moon – you name it – we were all of it!
Last year, between plexiglass, we got together in the studio where made this inaugural album (alongside our friend and guitar/lap steel player, Christine Bougie) and recorded the album top to bottom. We premiered in last year, and wanted to share it today on the anniversary of its release.
